Most roundup articles ranking them are written by the tool being ranked #1, which is worth knowing before you trust one. This is a straight comparison of what each tool actually does, what it costs, and where it falls short: including HireStepX, which we build, and which we've tried to describe here the same way we describe the others.
Most of these tools converge on the same pitch: "practice with AI, get feedback." The differences that matter are underneath that pitch.

Final Round AI is a US-focused AI interview practice and "interview copilot" product with the broadest feature set of the pure-AI tools: mock interviews, resume tools, and a real-time in-interview assist overlay (which reads the live interview audio and suggests answers on your screen). The mock interview product itself is solid: structured feedback, a large question library.
Where it's a poor fit for Indian candidates specifically: pricing is USD ($148-$225+/month for the plans that unlock full mock interview access), and the question bank skews heavily to US tech company formats. If your target is a US-headquartered company hiring globally, it's a reasonable option. If your target is an Indian company or GCC, you're paying for coverage you won't use.
A free tool from Google (part of Grow with Google), built for a specific narrow use case: quick, low-stakes practice for five broad categories (e.g. general, UX design, data analysis). It transcribes your spoken answer and highlights frequently-used words and detected talking points: it does not score you against a rubric, doesn't ask follow-up questions, and has no company-specific or India-specific content.
Good as a free, zero-signup way to hear yourself answer a question out loud once. Not something you'd use for serious, repeated interview preparation: there's no depth to grow into.
Verve AI is a newer entrant with a broad free tier and a copilot-style real-time assist feature similar to Final Round AI's, plus standard mock interview practice; question bank depth for Indian-specific roles is thin as of 2026.
Yoodli is primarily a communication-coaching tool (filler words, pacing, eye contact via webcam), not an interview-question tool specifically: it was built for public speaking practice and later added an interview mode. Strong for polishing delivery mechanics; weak for judging whether your answer's content was actually correct or complete.
Big Interview is one of the older products in this space (pre-dates the current wave of LLM-based tools), aimed mostly at US college career centers and outplacement programs sold through institutions rather than direct-to-candidate. Question bank is broad but generic; feedback is rubric-based but less specific than newer LLM-scored tools.
